Unseasonably dry weather continues to cut into the high school ski and snowboard seasons.
Most recently, the opening CNISSF snowboard race of the season, originally scheduled for Monday at Northstar, was postponed until Feb. 20 or Feb. 27, said North Tahoe athletic director Judi Dietz.
In addition, this Friday's CNISSF Sugar Bowl Freestyle Nordic race has been canceled due to a lack of snow, Dietz said, meaning that all three high school Nordic races have been canceled this season.
In Tahoe Basin League alpine skiing, Thursday's race at Kirkwood is on as scheduled, said Truckee coach Pat Mooney. The first race back on Dec. 15 was canceled.
Outside of the high school racing, several regional Nordic ski races have either been canceled or postponed, including the Sierra Nordic Duathlon this past Sunday and the Tahoe Donner Night Race on Wednesday, both of which were canceled.
