INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — At last the spell has been broken, and maybe winter is returning to Tahoe. Just to make sure, head up to the festivities for Ullr Fest at Diamond Peak this weekend.
Ullr is the Norse god of winter and snow so I suggest that the entire village turns out.
The party begins at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at Diamond Peak. Pick up your proper costume at Dress the Part(y).
Salaam Designs is back for another trunk show and benefit from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Sanctuary Studio located in Crystal Bay at 205 Stateline. Ladies, if you love the fabrics and designs now is the time to check out the new 2012 styles and fabrics.

Another fun event coming up in February is the Dads in Drag Fashion Show from the Kings Beach Parents Coop.
This event is from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Big Water Grille. For tickets call 775-771-3306 or contact roxkai@aol.com.
We have not received any bowling reports lately but understand that an event down at Silver Strike Lanes is scheduled for February 11 and 12. I know everyone is awaiting scores and news from that weekend.
A big shout out from a local fan to Bailey Rector. This incredible 16-year-old has a special talent for cake making.
Let's hope she makes a few cakes for all to see in a future edition of the Bonanza. I know everyone is excited to taste too.
A special birthday shout-out this week to Bonanza Publisher Michael Gelbman on Jan. 20. Other birthdays to celebrate include: Frank D'Angelo and Andrea Walz on Jan. 21; Don Kaplan on Jan. 22; Karen Laurie on Jan. 24; and Pandora Bahlman, Kane Casani, Adam Houser, Laurel Jones, John Tarantino and Brad Wilson all on Jan. 25. Happy birthday, one and all.
For the best Deals and Steals this week, go celebrate with Ullr. The community is invited to attend all of the activities and events. The full lineup of events can be found at www.diamondpeak.com.
As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, news along with the best deals and steals you can find to jeanmeick@aol.com.
