After 13 years with Project MANA I am moving on. Heidi Allstead will be taking over as Executive Director effective January 27th.
For the last 13 years I've had the privilege of working for an incredible organization. Project MANA has been a rewarding experience for me offering both challenging and meaningful work. Who could ask for more?
I want to thank the Board of Directors for their support and friendship over the years. They followed some very clear guidelines, “what's best for the community” and, “Is within our mission?” and managed to keep me on mission despite my most creative efforts to stray into unknown territory.
I also want to thank our donors, the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, the Tahoe and Truckee communities and the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza for their support and belief in our work. You made my job easier.
My wife and I will be retiring and moving to Belize where Irma is from and where I lived for 17 years. In a way we're going home, but it's bittersweet. We will miss everyone and all the friendships we made here, but not the long winters. If you ever make it to Belize look us up and we'll keep a cold beer in the refrigerator.
