The Incline Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team defeated Carson Valley Middle School in three sets in the championship match of the South Lake Tahoe Optimist Volleyball Tournament this past weekend.

It was the first time in Incline Middle School history that its eighth-grade team won the South Shore tournament.

Incline defeated Carson Valley Middle school in the championship match Saturday, 21-25, 25-18 and 15-12 in the tiebreaker set.

There were eight teams in the tourney, including North Tahoe Middle School, Whittell, South Tahoe, Eagle Valley, Pau Wa Lu, Carson and Carson Valley.
