As I was driving past the pedestrian crosswalk by Raley's the other night, I was reminded of the couple killed on Jan. 30th. I had, what I thought, was a brainstorm of an idea: instead of money being spent on a roundabout at the junction of highways 431 and 28, what about putting in street lights at the pedestrian crosswalk?
Forget about people speeding past the crosswalk; you can't even see the crosswalk at night. Had those people been my family members, I would make a big stink about the lack of illumination.
Just my opinion, but I believe attempting to save human lives holds a higher, not mention moral, priority than a pretty gateway to Incline Village for tourists. It was not a resident of Incline who hit the two pedestrians.
