Incline Village neighborhoods offer something for everyone
Those who are thinking about moving to Incline Village will find it helpful to be able to differentiate one neighborhood from another. Each has its particular flavor.
Families will likely be more comfortable in a home in one of three neighborhoods: Millcreek, central Incline, or the Lakeview subdivision. The Millcreek subdivision, about a half mile inland from Ski Beach and bordered by Lakeshore Boulevard and Country Club Drive.
Central Incline Village includes the neighborhood behind Incline High School, off Village Boulevard and sandwiched between Northwood Boulevard and College Road, east of Mount Rose Highway.
Another neighborhood that's on flat ground and therefore perfect for bicycling as well as being close to the beach is Lakeview. Lakeview comprises the area off Lakeshore Boulevard between Village and Mays boulevards.
Another lower elevation neighborhood flanks the Championship Golf Course, which is bordered by Tahoe Boulevard, Country Club Drive and Village Boulevard. The Mountain Golf Course neighborhood is just off the east side of Mount Rose Highway. Its rolling hills offer lovely settings for golfers and residents.
The Ponderosa subdivision is on the west side of Incline Village, and is accessed by Ponderosa Avenue off Tahoe Boulevard and Red Cedar Drive off State Route 28. It is a hilly area with lots of mountain and forest views and some lake views. Jennifer - a neighborhood named for a street east of upper Tyner - can be reached by turning onto Marlette Drive off Mount Rose Highway. This neighborhood also offers mostly mountain and forest views.
Lower Tyner Way and Upper Tyner Way also offer some great views, with some spectacular lake views. Second Creek, accessed from Highway 431, leads drivers into Lower Tyner and Barbara Street, also off Mount Rose Highway, takes drivers to upper Tyner Way, including Dorsey Drive.
The east slope, an area east Country Club Drive, with Fairview Boulevard as a major thoroughfare, offers panoramic lake views. This neighborhood is considered one of the more prestigious in Incline Village, notwithstanding those onethe lake.
Tyrolia and Tirolian Village, also on the east side of Incline, are close to Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Both areas offer Bavarian style homes in a very hilly area. Tyrolia is the neighborhood leading up to Diamond Peak and Tirolian Village is an enclave at the top of the mountain.
Those new to the area will need to realize that the higher elevation areas, such as upper Tyner Way, as well as the Apollo neighborhood, off Highway 431 as it curves out of Incline on the way to Reno, receive significantly more snowfall than the lower level neighborhoods.
